Implementation

Use your existing store as the starting point.

Gengage setup begins with the product and policy information already available on your public website. You do not need to build a product feed or connect your search and data systems through a backend API to begin. Our team prepares and checks the installation with you.

Do I need a feed or search integration?

No feed or backend API connection is required to start self-service setup. Enter your public store URL and Gengage reads the pages it can access to identify products, policies and store details. This also helps the team understand your platform and the questions shoppers may ask.

The scope of live product search, availability and cart actions depends on what the team validates on your store. Starting from a URL does not mean every store capability is automatically connected.

Which ecommerce platforms can I select?

Setup supports Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento / Adobe Commerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, ikas, Ticimax, IdeaSoft and T-Soft. Choose Other for a custom platform. Your store needs to be able to load the installation script; the team reviews its behavior on your site.

What do I need to install?

Install one script through Google Tag Manager or your store theme after integration and ownership checks are complete. Your account provides the script and installation instructions. Our integration team usually enables the assistant within 12 hours of payment and contacts you when it is ready or needs your input.

Check that the script loads once, then use the installation check in your account. Test the shopper capabilities agreed for your store before treating the rollout as complete.

How should we check answers and hallucination risks?

Start with real questions about your products, compatibility, returns and delivery. During setup, observed facts are distinguished from suggestions, and missing information is not presented as a discovered fact. The preview is illustrative, not a live quality test.

Before launch, review answers against the source product and policy pages. Include questions whose answers are missing or ambiguous, then agree how those cases should be handled. Confirm product recommendations, stock statements and cart behavior separately for your store.

What should we agree before going live?

Agree the shopper journeys, brand wording and capabilities you need, then review the tested scope with the integration team. For enterprise requirements, discuss customization, reporting, security and data handling during evaluation so that the agreed deployment matches your requirements.

Decide how you will evaluate results as well: conversation reports help explain shopper behavior, while a controlled holdout is needed to estimate incremental sales.
