Turn project questions into confident product choices.

A home-improvement shopper is solving a project, not just searching for a product name. These illustrative journeys connect questions about suitability, finish, quantity and installation across a broad catalog.

Follow the project across categories

A renovation project can involve tiles, doors and lighting, with different questions in each category. Keep the project’s needs in context while checking facts against the item currently being discussed.

This illustrative sequence highlights buying decisions rather than a client’s conversation or purchase outcome.

Suitable surfaces and finishes

Distinguish indoor wall, floor, outdoor and wet-area suitability using each tile’s product information. Similar-looking products may have different intended uses.

Explain matte and glossy finishes in the context of the intended space. Do not generalize one item’s suitability to an entire category.

Pack coverage and quantity

Surface the relevant product’s coverage per box, unit and pack quantity together. Keep coverage tied to the selected item rather than carrying values across alternatives.

Coverage gives the shopper an input for calculating quantity. Make any project assumptions explicit and distinguish product facts from estimates.

Included components, fit and installation

Check whether the selected package includes the door leaf and frame, how it is supplied and who is responsible for installation. Use the listed dimensions to discuss fit.

The conversation needs to follow the change in category while keeping each answer attached to the relevant product.

Measure outcomes separately from the conversation

Review conversations with and without recorded purchases to find recurring uncertainties and missing product information. A purchase associated with a conversation does not establish that a particular answer caused the sale.

To evaluate additional revenue, use a controlled pilot with stable visitor assignments and an agreed metric across the full eligible audience. Keep attributed purchases, operational handoffs and incremental revenue separate.

About these industry journeys

These illustrative journeys describe general shopping decisions. They are not customer quotations, reconstructions of an individual conversation or reports of a particular client’s results. Merchant identities, logos, product identifiers, reporting windows and client metrics are not included.

The examples do not promise sales lift, a completed purchase or identical features for every deployment. Review the supported scope for your store and measure outcomes independently.
